Hey everyone, Amanda here from Foster Decor Consulting, where I create vibrant, bold, and edgy spaces. As a rebel in the interior design world, I thrive on thinking outside the box to craft unique environments that reflect personality.
I embrace a maximalist design philosophy—trends may change, but if you love something, keep it! Remember, it's your home and your rules! If anyone disagrees, just tell them Amanda said so!
Lighting That Dazzles and Delights
Lighting? Oh, we've got it in spades yall. We've got a disco ball that doubles as a planter (because why not?), and some beautiful orb-shaped sconces that look like they're straight out of a sci-fi movie that I found on Amazon. These beauties are black and gold, echoing the vibes from the kitchen and tying the spaces together.
Installing them was a bit of an adventure - thank goodness for my partner's guidance. It was like a DIY version of "Dancing with the Stars," but instead of a dance partner, I had a drill and a prayer. But the end result?
Absolutely worth it. They're not just lights; they're conversation starters and go with the Playful Chic theme.
Creating a Waiting Room Worth Waiting For
For those moments when you need to chill, I've created a waiting room that puts doctor's offices to SHAME. Forget those outdated magazines; we've got a curated selection of home decor and manga.
It's my guilty pleasure reading material on display, because why should waiting be boring? It's like a library, but with better taste and no one shushing you.
The Art of Eclectic Layering
The eclectic maximalist style is all about layering textures, patterns, and eras. We've got mid-century modern rubbing elbows with 80s pop culture, all while maintaining a cohesive color story.
It's a delicate balance of chaos and harmony, and honey, we've nailed it. It's like a time machine exploded in here, but in the best way possible.
Breakfast Nook Bliss: A Café at Home
Last but not least, the breakfast nook got some TLC. It's where I start my day with a salmon everything bagel and mushroom coffee, feeling like I'm in my own little café in the heart of this maximalist paradise.
The teal barstools echo the colors in the kitchen, creating that cohesive flow we're after. It's like the kitchen and foyer are finishing each other's sentences.
Smart Lighting for a Mini Rave Experience
We also installed some pendants These lights are so cool, they make Edison look like he was playing with matches.
They're creating an awesome light show with their Smart LED capabilities. I've got the same lights in the kitchen - they change colors with a remote and are magnetic for easy charging. It's like having a mini rave in my foyer every day!
Finding Comfort in Unique Seating Solutions
I wanted a comfortable chair but couldn't afford a new Lazy Boy and didn’t want a worn-out secondhand one. After no luck on Facebook Marketplace, I turned to Amazon and found two folding lounge chairs that received rave reviews for comfort at a reasonable price.
They came with footstools, which weren't very attractive, so I bought affordable black and white seat covers to enhance their look. I also added some extra furs and a chartreuse pillow to make the chairs feel playful and chic, echoing the theme of my space. Now, they’re super comfortable, perfect for relaxing, watching TV, or enjoying my cafe nook.
